PreS-Gr 2-It is essential to teach awareness of the human impact on our planet and the importance of caring for its future at a young age. Vibrant photos and simple writing depict diverse populations caring for their environment in a variety of ways. Care for Nature explains the importance of respecting the natural world while fostering cooperation. Reduce Waste discusses the ideas of salvaging, repurposing, and cutting back on consumption. In Litter, readers are introduced to the negative effects of trash, how we can safely clean it up, and the possibilities of its reduction through recycling. Reuse and Recycle builds on this foundation while conveying the importance of both practices and offering examples of ways kids can contribute. Critical thinking questions will spark conversation about our environmental footprint.
