Grades 3-5 Each book in the timely and informative new series U.S. Presidential Elections: How They Work (6 titles) focuses on one aspect of the country's elections for president, using recent and older historical examples to illustrate the concept. In The Electoral College, Corso examines the history and workings of the Electoral College, from broad topics (like how many electors each state gets and why) to precise details about how the electors' votes are cast, compiled, and counted. Most of the books end with an eye toward future changes and improvements. Although the main text can sometimes be a little dry, Path to the Presidency tidbits, somewhat more extensive sidebars, and captioned photos add interest.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2020, American Library Association.)
