K-Gr 2-Both books feature simplified vocabulary and digitally rendered pictures. Each one ends with a craft project, words to know (which are not highlighted as they appear), and an index (not necessary in a 24-page book that has little value for reports). With fairly bland texts and sterile pictures that can be confusing (the jar of "pennies" in School looks more like a jar filled with cookies), these titles are inferior to those mentioned in the "To Learn More" sections, such as Rosemary Wells's Emily's First 100 Days of School (Hyperion, 2000) or Anne Rockwell's Valentine's Day (HarperCollins, 2000).-Lisa Gangemi Kropp, Middle Country Public Library, Centereach, NY
