Pillage

happypug12 - Pillage was alright. What I felt after reading this was that it was a poorly-stitched-together story. First of all, the emotions were not expressed at ALL. Beck says the word "Grow," the ivy grows, and almost no reaction there. Basically: Oh, yeah, I can make plants bow to me at my command, no big deal. So the emotions weren't very realistic. The author did have a more realistic view of Beck's view on Kate, but very unromantic part when he kisses her. If you're actually going to have romance in a book, make it worth it! Worth noting, I didn't feel any sort of attachment to Beck, Kate, Milo, or any of the characters in the book. Third, this book is a bit of a whirlwind, jumping from one event to the next. Fourth, at the end of the book, not much of an epic conflict at all. And since when does the law give in so easily?! I mean, the video of the dragons could have been Photoshopped, for all they know, to cover up an incident where muggers lope into Kingsport and trash the place. On the pro's side: Clean language and easy-reading. 9-11 year olds is all I can recommend this to.
