In this Western take on Romeo and Juliet, the Caldwells and the Wainwrights have been feuding for years. Sarah Caldwell is instructed to distract Cord Wainwright while her father and brother rob him. Cord has been down this road before and knows what the little minx is up to. Since the sheriff is away, he makes a citizen's arrest and brings Sarah back to the Wainwright place. There, the two discover that they are more compatible than they thought. VERDICT Believable characters and an attention to detail make this series debut from the author of the "Brides of Culdee Creek" series a sure bet for fans of Lori Wick.

First it was the Capulets and Montagues, then the Hatfields and McCoys, and now author Kathleen Morgan brings us the Caldwells and Wainwrights of nineteenth-century Colorado. Sarah Caldwell has never known a time in her life when her family was not feuding with the wealthy Wainwright clan. An attempt to get back at the Wainwrights puts Sarah in a compromising position, and she finds herself a prisoner of Cord Wainwright, the son of her fathers archenemy. As Cord and Sarah are forced to spend more time together, romance blooms and compels these children of wrath to explore the meaning of true forgiveness and redemption. The wild western Rocky Mountains provide the ideal setting for triumphant hearts and a fresh start. Western-romance fans will enjoy this opener in Morgans Heart of the Rockies series, in which forbidden romance meets cattle rustling and shoot-outs.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2011, American Library Association.)
