Freelance writer Boreth, who has contributed to such publications as the "Boston Globe" and "Playboy", seeks to help men master the small things that mean a lot to women without sacrificing their own dignity or all-important leisure time. With humor, he instructs men how to notice a woman's new haircut, eliminate gas, unclog the bathroom sink, make a stir-fry, pretend not to look at other women, and listen. The chapters are short and illustrated with helpful diagrams. It's hard to imagine male patrons grabbing this off the shelf, but if they did, they would enjoy it -as would their wives. For most public libraries.
