Gemma Dante, owner of a New Age shop, is a good witch, yet she hasn't been successful in her search for a man. One night she and her best friend cast a spell for Mr. Right, and Gemma asks for someone who accepts her as she is. When she tries to envision him, all she sees is a penetrating pair of blue eyes. Meanwhile, her neighbor, Sean Kennealy, former stockbroker, now a New York firefighter, has a heck of a time sleeping with the aroma of her incense wafting up to him. So he and a couple of his fellow firefighters don their gear and knock on Gemma's door, pretending to think her apartment is on fire. Gemma and Sean are instantly intrigued with each other, but Sean is afraid of what the close-knit group of guys at the station will think of his offbeat girlfriend. And Gemma is deathly afraid of the dangers Sean faces.
