Family obligation turns into a zany caper in Fenske's debut. Juli Flynn is dismayed when she becomes executor of her Mob boss uncle Frankie's will, distraught when she learns she's to scatter his remains in the ocean near the Virgin Islands. Trying to overcome her usual seasickness, she self-medicates and stumbles onto the wrong boat. Onboard are four disgruntled people, just axed from a shipping company, one of whom is a former executive. Alex Bradshaw has gathered the group together to overtake a shipment of diamonds belonging to one of the company's current execs. Alex figures the theft will repay the group's losses in pensions and benefits. What he doesn't count on is Juli's well-meaning interference and their plunge into romance. Fenske's off-the-wall plotting is reminiscent of a tame Carl Hiaasen on Cupid juice.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2011, American Library Association.)
