Life could not be any better for Kate Madison: she is married to high school sweetheart Neil, a firefighter, with two beautiful daughters and a career she loves. But tragedy shatters her perfect world when Neil is killed in an office building fire. A churchgoer all her life, Kate cannot forgive God for taking Neil away from her, but she must carry on for the sake of her children. Forced to take a job in San Francisco, she relocates. Adjusting to this new life after Oklahoma will not be easy for the family, but a bubbly neighbor, Mazi Hollingsworth, helps Kate put the pieces of her shattered life and faith back together. A change of pace from Copeland's historical series ("Brides of the West," "Men of the Saddle"), this contemporary will appeal to her fans as well as readers who enjoy stories about family, friendship, and renewal.
