As the king's ward, Nicole de Leon knows she must marry as the king decrees. But when Rhodri ap Daffyd is sent by her Welsh uncle to see how she fares and then an English earl unreasonably forces them to leave the safety of the abbey for Oxford Castle, Nicole is more than willing to go with Rhodri to Wales. Politics and power form the backdrop here, while Nicole's "conversations" with the dead add a bit of paranormal color to this sensual tale of 12th-century Britain. This is the final volume in Anton's medieval trilogy about the de Leon sisters and the magical legend that binds them together. The author ("Twilight Magic") lives in Wisconsin.

For eight years Bledloe Abbey had been Nicole de Leons home, but now King Stephen of England wants to marry Nicole off to a Welsh prince. But Nicoles uncle, Connor ap Maelgwn, has a different plan in mind for Nicole. Connor sends bard and warrior Rhodri ap Daffyd to the abbey to escort Nicole back home. In order to get out of England and return to Wales, Nicole isforced into a working partnership with Rhodri, but that relationship becomes even more complicated once Nicole realizes she just might be falling in love with him. A heroine with the ability to hear dead people finds herself falling for a Welsh bard in the concluding title in Antons de Leon sisters trilogy. With its intriguing combination of passion, peril, and a dash of the paranormal, Magic in His Kiss is terrifically entertaining.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2008, American Library Association.)
