Startled out of his relatively peaceful life as the sheriff of tiny No Name, CO, when letters arrive suggesting he might have a wife and a child--and he has no recollection of either--David Paxton heads for Glory Ridge to check things out. He finds an adorable six-year-old who is definitely a Paxton, a fiercely protective Irish beauty who claims she's married to a different David Paxton, and a dilemma he's hard-pressed to solve. A forced marriage and a little girl's impulsive announcement take the decision out of the couple's hands and set them on a rocky, lie-strewn path to an unexpected relationship. VERDICT Gentle humor, flirtatious banter, beautifully drawn characters, and a worthy plot result in a poignant, family-centered story that draws readers in and makes them want to stay. Anderson (Here To Stay) lives in rural Oregon.
