Written by long-term care specialist Henry (cofounder, Vista del Sol Care Ctr., Culver City, CA), "Eldercare "covers issues all families need to address: warning signs of impending dementia, denial, role reversal, sibling relationships, caregiver burnout, the best kind of long-term care for a loved one, and issues regarding finances and Medicare. The tone is informative and accessible.
In "Living Well", business consultant Dickinson and nursing home owner Vosen illustrate the emotions caregivers typically confront and suggest concrete methods for alleviating situations that seemingly have no solution. They characterize the needs different facilities are able to address and discuss everything from gift etiquette to death. Included are valuable exercises that measure stress and evaluate energy levels as well as a list of resources. Both books are highly recommended for public libraries and consumer health collections." -Cleo Pappas, Univ. of Illinois Lib. of the Health Sciences, Chicago"
