Buffett, Soros, and Volker, names familiar to many, and large voices worth listening to, saw the current economic crisis coming and told us so. Why didn't Wall Street, the banking industry, and regulators listen? Sean Runnette's pacing and delivery amplify the authority of this powerful book. The largely narrative work provides limited opportunities for voicings, but Runnette does a splendid job in the brief moments of dialogue. Soothing yet compelling--this is a voice one could listen to all day. For investors and students of finance, business, and government. Also a resource for folks who want thumbnail biographies of these three titans without having to wade through the multiple tomes written by and about them. M.C. (c) AudioFile 2009, Portland, Maine

The author of the "New York Times" best seller "The Trillion Dollar Meltdown"whose Phoenix Audio production, read by Nick Summers, was a Best Audiobook of 2008 ("LJ" 1/09)here analyzes the differences and similarities among the sole three men left standing in the storm of today's economic crisis, covering their childhoods, educations, career trajectories, and personal philosophies. Actor/narrator Sean Runnette's ("Up in the Air") performance is refreshingly neutral and unobtrusive. Highly recommended for all.Gail Preslar, Eastman Chemical Co. Business Lib., Kingsport, TN
