A Mom After God's Own Heart

A seasoned Christian author reads her thoughtful and well-organized book on how mothers can use God's love, their own nurturing instincts, and lessons from the Bible to raise their children. While her frequent use of biblical quotes threatens to overplay the idea of dependence on God's higher authority, she balances this tendency with careful consideration of a more ancient, and women-centered, brand of mothering. In spite of what sounds like her fundamentalist Christian moorings, she gives credit to women's innate wisdom and the powerful lessons that women have passed on to their daughters for eons.
