There he meets Seline O’Shaw—daughter of an angel and an incubus—who has her own dark agenda: killing Sammael under order from Rogziel, the punishment angel. Seline soon learns fallen angels can be good and still-wingèd angels can be evil, as someone is killing other fallen angels. Sammael and Seline must find the killer before they too are killed, but in the process, they fall in love and learn to trust again—a hard task for both.
