Boston University professor emeritus Codevilla (No Victory, No Peace) berates current and past U.S. administrations for being elitist, and explores the deepening divide between America's "Ruling Class"—the Democrats—and the "Country Class," which represents the majority of the populace. Now Codevilla expands on the lengthy essay he wrote for The American Spectator (which caught the attention of Rush Limbaugh, who penned the introduction here). The ruling class, according to Limbaugh, "is a minority no relationship to the rest of us in the Country Class… yet somehow we are now being ruled—not governed—by these people." In a thorough, well-researched treatise, Codevilla delineates his position on many hot-button issues of the day; no one will mistake his acutely political platform as balanced. The author invokes The Declaration of Independence and Constitution as proof of the validity of his arguments. As is the case with any polemic, it depends on your political leanings.
