Davidson is assuredly the most popular and published Wodehouse reader, with more than 23 of the comic masterpieces under his belt. This book, relatively early Wodehouse, is the usual romp through a high-class British countryside populated by eccentrics, coincidences, wild misunderstandings and a touch of evil. American kidnappers are after the repulsive child they call "The Little Nugget." Our hero defends! Davidson nearly drawls as he moves from one situation to another, sharply distinguishing the male characters, from a pompous schoolmaster to the obnoxious nugget himself.
