A Damsel in Distress

When Maud Marshmoreton throws herself unexpectedly into George Bevan's cab in London, he falls instantly in love with her. However, Maud is in love with a mysterious American she met in Wales. Maud's aunt, Lady Caroline Byng, wants Maud to marry her stepson, Reggie. But Reggie is in love with his father's secretary, Alice. When George turns up at the Marshmoreton estate with an American accent, confusion ensues. Jonathan Cecil reads this comic tale of mistaken identity and love triangles with humor and impeccable timing.
