Due in large part to phenomenal popularity of the TV series Batman, superheroes dominated the mid-1960s comic-book market much as they do todays. But some of the eras best comics, however, were in the horror genre, specifically, the black-and-white magazine-format titles from Warren Publishing. This collection of issues 6 through 10 of the companys Eerie features stories drawn by an impressive array of artists, including EC horror comics veterans Reed Crandall and Johnny Craig, Marvel mainstays Steve Ditko and Gene Colan, and newcomer Neal Adams, who was soon to revolutionize superhero comics at DC.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2009, American Library Association.)
