The sweet fifth installment of Blakeâs (Holly Lane) Destiny contemporary series offers the captivating story of bookstore owner Amy Bright. The matchmaker of tiny Destiny, Ohio, Amy has come up empty in her own search for love. She believes her friendsâ happy endings will never happen for herâuntil a longtime friend, firefighter Logan Whitaker, kisses her in a drunken moment. As Amy realizes she is in love with her best friend, a complication arrives: Anna Romo, who disappeared from town at age five. Logan asks Amy to set him up with the âarrestingly beautifulâ Anna, and Amy feels certain she canât compete. Her friends provide a makeover and help devise secret notes to Logan, changing things dramatically. Suggestive love scenes befit the Austen theme and, though this is no easy road to happily-ever-after, itâs impossible not to empathize with and cheer for Amy in this charming tale.
