Wiese (A Beaded Romance) uses a variety of beading stitches, including peyote, right-angle weave, and netting, in this collection of extravagant beadwork projects. Wiese's preference is small seed beads (generally size 15), which she combines with pearls, rivolis, and other crystals. Projects include necklaces, bracelets, and earrings in an array of styles, as well as a bold cocktail ring with a crystal rivoli as a focal point. The instructions are straightforward, with materials and techniques listed up front. Steps are illustrated as needed, with the thread path clearly highlighted. VERDICT Intermediate to advanced jewelrymakers with a taste for bold and dramatic jewelry will find plenty of options here.
