Annie Harlowe is still reeling from the death of her husband, Andre, a year ago and desperately trying to make ends meet for herself and their two children, Milo and Trixie. Though she is having trouble paying her credit-card bills, she faithfully pays the bill for her husband's cell phone so that she can hear his recorded voice. One day someone actually picks up--through the static, she thinks it might be Andre, communicating with her from beyond.
