In her third outing (after "Another One Bites the Dust"), CIA agent Jaz Parks once again partners with her handsome, intelligent vampire boss, Vayl, to track down monsters threatening human existence. This time, the target is the Wizard, an ancient being with strong paranormal powers. Jaz and Vayl join with a special ops unit led by Jaz's twin brother, but Jaz has secret knowledge of a mole in the unit and must identify the spy before the hunt can proceed. Rardin's previous books focused on the relationship between Vayl and Jaz, but her latest centers on Jaz's often dysfunctional family, her growing paranormal abilities, and the demons that beset her. The action rarely stops in this page-turner. Recommended for urban fantasy collections.

CIA assassin and vampire Jasmine Parks jazzes things up again in the third of Rardins quirky, fang-in-cheek series thats so far a welcome addition to the dark-fantasy thriller ranks. Jazs team includes boss vampire Vayl, bespectacled weapons guru Miles Bergman, and sharpshooter-linguist Cole. The Department of Defense now proposes that Jaz join her twin, Dave, to whom she hasnt spoken in 16 months, in his special-ops unit to bring down a terrorist.
