Lady Fiona Hollingsworth would do anything to save her brother Randolph's life, even marry Nicholas Birmingham. With her family's estate in disrepair, Fiona turns to Nicholas, the one man able to provide the money she needs to ransom Randolph from the Spanish bandits who are holding him hostage. Fiona offers to marry Nicholas in exchange for the money she needs, and is more than a little surprised when he initially rejects her proposal. Nicholas knows that a marriage between a bloke like himself and a member of the ton like Fiona is a recipe for trouble, but somehow he finds himself eventually accepting Fiona's tempting offer. Both Fiona and Nicholas consider their marriage as nothing more than a business agreement, so both are stunned when love becomes part of the bargain. A marriage of convenience turns passionate in Bolen's latest sinfully sexy Regency, which the author skillfully wraps up in a nice bit of Christmas cheer.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2005, American Library Association.)
