Lucadoâwith more than 100 million books and other products available âgathers nearly 180 questions he's fielded over the years as both author and pastor to create a compendium of sound, biblical advice sure to resonate with readers. The San Antonio, Tex., pastor's down-to-earth style is much in evidence, as is his acute understanding of Scripture and how to apply it. He answers such tough questions as, "Does God lead us through feelings?"; "How can I increase my faith that my prayers will be answered?"; and "What does God think of the suicide victim?" Readers will find questions about sex, working overtime, purgatory, and worry; just about everything a Christian might ask, Lucado answers with logic, spiritual insight, and wisdom. Sections include Hope, Hurt, Help, Him/Her, Home, Haves/Have-Nots, and Hereafter. Lucado also offers an addendum of his best advice for writers, as well as Scripture and topical indexes. Max's many fans will snap up this book; those looking for answers will search its pages as well.
Author and preacher Max Lucado is back with a question-and-answer session in his latest work. Those who ask the questions are a myriad of different men and women, an approach that gives the production the sounds of a live presentation. Wayne Shepherd takes the part of the author delivering the answers. In essence, Lucado covers most of the basic questions on life and Christianity. Shepherd does a decent job reading Lucado's answers though he doesn't project much personality. For example, he delivers a lighthearted response in the same tone as a serious one. Since this book uses a Q&A format, it may serve the listener better to have a print copy for quicker reference to specific questions. T.D. (c) AudioFile 2011, Portland, Maine
