The Case of the Superstar Scam (Book 10)

Grades 2-4 Milo and Jazz, the detectives of this long-running series, return in a caper with which the audience will really identify: going crazy over a superstar. Jazz's older brother, Chris, and four of his friends are the number one fans of Starr Silveria, who plays a superhero on TV. Chris and pals were lucky enough to win star-encrusted guitar picks like the one she wears on her show, and they have got them on as they wait for Starr to make an appearance in Westview, wherewow!the show will be shooting an episode. But ownership of the picks proves problematic. One by one, the kids get letters stating that whoever hands the picks over will have a chance to meet Starr personally. It doesn't take long for Milo and Jazz to figure out this is a scam, but it takes a bit longer to nail down who is behind it. Besides being lots of fun, with plenty of kid-friendly art, there's a solid little mystery here.
