Yule Log Murder

Narrator Laurel Lefkow adroitly navigates the challenge of performing three mystery novellas by three different authors, which are here tied together into one audio program. Each novella takes place within the setting of the books already written by its author, and each is connected to the others through the theme of Yule log cake. With the first novella set on the coast of California and the second and third set in Maine, Lefkow makes a smart decision not to try to narrate using the local accents of the regions. She also manages to make the recipes included at the end of each novella easier to follow than many audiobooks do. Though Lefkow's performances don't stand out as particularly memorable, this audiobook is enjoyable. V.M.G. � AudioFile 2018, Portland, Maine
