Night of the Howling Dogs

Weaving elements of Hawaiian myth with details of the 1975 earthquake and tsunami that occurred at Halape, Hawaii, Graham Salisbury creates a realistic survival tale. Once again narrator Robert Ramirez displays an uncanny ability to inhabit the minds of teenage boys. As the character of Senior Patrol Leader Dylan, he gives voice to a young man facing his fears in the shadow of Hawaii's Pu'u Kapukapu volcano. Dylan and his nemesis, Louie, find a way to work together to save the troop when a routine camping trip turns into a harrowing test of survival.
