Spying, romance, death-defying escapes from evil pursuers: it's all in a day's work for Bianca St. Ives. In this third in the Guardian series (following The Moscow Deception, 2018), St. Ives, master of disguises, is on the run from killers while trying to plant disinformation in the hands of a hostile foreign power. Acting as her protector is the handsome, capable Colin Rogan, who may not be trustworthy. St. Ives finds this Bond-type partner irresistible, a subplot that sometimes gets corny. Overall, however, the tale comprises a long, exciting chase (leading to a gratifyingly suspenseful conclusion). The authorities have finally caught up with Bianca St. Ives, who rights the world's wrongs by stealing money back from swindlers, and they'll give her a break--if she goes undercover as a female hacker who stole intelligence from the North American Aerospace Defense Command.
