Spying, romance, death-defying escapes from evil pursuers: it's all in a day's work for Bianca St. Ives. In this third in the Guardian series (following The Moscow Deception, 2018), St. Ives, master of disguises, is on the run from killers while trying to plant disinformation in the hands of a hostile foreign power. Acting as her protector is the handsome, capable Colin Rogan, who may not be trustworthy. St. Ives finds this Bond-type partner irresistible, a subplot that sometimes gets corny. Overall, however, the tale comprises a long, exciting chase (leading to a gratifyingly suspenseful conclusion). Robards' fans will devour this latest in the series; try it, too, with patrons who enjoy Iris Johansen.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2019, American Library Association.)
