A Wizard of Mars

The ninth installment in the Young Wizards series pits Kit and Nita against a newly reawakened alien race that is trying to claim Mars. As Kit begins to feel estranged from his friends, especially Nita, narrator Christina Moore effortlessly captures his confused feelings, his yearning for his own wizardry, and his fascination with Mars. Moore voices Nita as a young woman who is gaining confidence in her own abilities. Audio highlights include the lovely Irish accent of a friend and the strange, lyrical tones of a "translated" whale song. A wholly entertaining listening experience. J.M.
