Apartment 1B, or the love shack in a Boston apartment building owned by a major-league pitcher, who just happens to be a shape-shifter, seems to have an uncanny ability to find the perfect romance for each tenant who moves in. In the third book of Chase's Strange Neighbors series of stand-alone humorous erotic romances, the new resident of 1B is Sylvestro Sly Flores, a 56-year-old vampire vigilante who looks 29. He hooks up with Morgaine, one of the witch cousins who run a phone -ex operation out of another apartment in the building. Morgaine, along with her hick cousin and the ghostly Chad, help save Sly from the evil vampire who turned him in the first place. A subplot involves a dragon working as a call girl (because frequent sex keeps her from sneezing fire), who becomes involved with the building's new super, a merman who can't fix anything. Lots of residents with all kinds of paranormal abilities keep the building buzzing and romance blooming in Chase's enjoyable romp for readers who like tales of lovemaking and laughter.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2011, American Library Association.)
