Karen Ziemba nails the perfect voice for Ali Reynolds, who has been furloughed by the Yavapai County Sheriff's Department because of budget cuts. As a result, she feels compelled to investigate the disappearance of Brenda Riley's fiancé on her own. Ziemba uses tenor tones for Ali's boyfriend, "B"-- short for Bartholomew. His computer security company reveals that Brenda's fiancé is Richard Lowensdale, a laid-off engineer who has a history of cyberstalking vulnerable women. Ziemba instills Ali's voice with carefully placed pauses that suggest her intelligence and quiet determination as she pursues a cold-blooded killer.
