Tangled Up in Tinsel

Narrator Hillary Huber gives a strong performance as Kenni Lowry, sheriff of Cottonwood, Kentucky, when 18-year-old Leighann Graves disappears from her home. With the help of the ghost of the former sheriff, Kenni's grandfather, Poppa (whom only Kenni and her dog can see), she finds a murdered Leighann in the back seat of her car at the bottom of a lake. Huber effectively conveys Kenni's desperation as she races to solve the murder before the storm of the century can prevent her from going to Chicago with her boyfriend, Deputy Finn Vincent. With a gentle Southern accent and a tone authority befitting a sheriff, Huber embodies Kenni and plays the characters of Poppa, Finn, and Kenni's momma, in particular, with creativity.
