A typical Western, full of fights, threats, and robberies, THE DREAMGIVERS contains a special twist: Its hero, Zach Cobb, is deeply spiritual. Not a pastor, but devout just the same, Cobb protects life and property in rough California. Jack Garrett speaks slowly, doing well with the narration, Cobb's part, and an Irishman's. He's less successful with the Chinese and Southerners' parts. Devoid of musical accompaniment, Garrett's straight reading of this story of victory over evil is delivered in a deep voice worthy of its message of devotion.
