Emily Elizabeth introduces listeners to her beloved dog, Clifford, and illustrates his many talents and tricks. She even confesses some of Clifford's faults. Stephanie D'Abruzzo wonderfully captures Emily Elizabeth's enthusiasm and innocent joy in her canine friend. D'Abruzzo uses a childlike voice and cadence that allow Emily Elizabeth to come alive. Music adds to the freshness of the story. The music also helps to express Emily Elizabeth's mood and Clifford's actions, providing adventurous sound when he chases cars and regretful, sheepish music when his cat-chasing prevents a visit to the zoo.
