The Future

With strong projection and an occasional light Southern drawl, Gore narrates his latest exploration of the world as a single cohesive system. He explores six converging elements, including economic impasse, hegemonic shifts, sustainability, digitization, transformational scientific breakthroughs, and more conscious awareness of the human in humanity. Taken together, these elements paint a future filled with challenges but also, Gore argues, a good number of opportunities. As narrator, Gore's skills in emphasis and rhythm create increased comprehension, particularly of the more technical and detailed passages. Listeners may find his inconsistent accent distracting; however, it seems to shine through when he's being most emphatic, a pattern that listeners may find useful. L.E.
