According to life coach and speaker Hassler, people suffer from expectation hangover when they're continually disappointed when life doesn't turn out as expected. To help readers create a future based on understanding who they really are, the author offers a multidimensional treatment plan that includes a range of tools and techniques. In order to deal with emotions, she suggests exercises that revolve around releasing feelings. To address psychological needs, she encourages rewriting one's story. Hassler states that there doesn't need to be disappointment on the spiritual level if setbacks are viewed as opportunities for learning. A particularly handy section of the book contains quick fixes, among them, directing readers to stop people-pleasing and to be of service. The author's best advice: "Don't go to a Chinese restaurant for nachos." VERDICT Hassler's work will equip any reader who is open and committed to change to succeed.
