The language in this compelling invitation may be in the Christian tradition, but the message will speak to people with all kinds of lethargy. The youthful-sounding authors are Buddha-like as they remind us to stop striving aimlessly and settle into the security of God's love and direction. Their advice is at once nonspecific and vividly practical--as if every idea speaks unambiguously to what's most bothering each of us. Schedules and goals are fine, they say, but lead us nowhere if we're not grounded in the deeper purpose we can find only in the spiritual realm. Reading alternately, the authors deliver parables from the Bible and the personal growth genre that give listeners the wake-up call they need to move their lives forward. T.W.
