Grades 8-12 This entry in the Money and Finance Guide series (5 titles) aims to help high-school students navigate their next step after graduation, whether that's attending college, taking a gap year, or pursuing a trade. While the information on choosing and applying to colleges is standard fare, the book does a creditable job of breaking down the stigma attached to trade and other blue-collar jobs. For all avenues, it emphasizes pursuing a course that plays to one's strengths and passions, providing real-world examples of what that can look like. Notably absent, however, is any mention of COVID-19 and how it may impact young people's educational, job, and economic futures. More robust resources on topics like student loans, financial aid, and registered apprenticeships would have added considerable value. A secondary purchase.
