Bloodhound

Seventeen-year-old Beka is now a full-fledged policewoman who sets out with her scent hound, Achoo, to investigate counterfeit coins being passed in Port Caynn. For listeners not familiar with TERRIER, the first book in Pierce's trilogy, it will take some time to get oriented to this story, but things will fall into place. Susan Denaker gives a smooth performance that keeps the story moving at a good pace. She uses a variety of subtle accents to reflect class and hierarchy. Beka tells her own story in the first person, and Denaker presents a convincing portrayal of young woman with an iron will who is determined to meet her obligations to her duty and her friends.
