Allegiant

ikyra_marie - THIS CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS!Allegiant is the third book in the Divergent series, after Divergent and Insurgent.The ending of this book was EXTEMELY upsetting to me and it was really hard for me to get over it.Anyway, the book starts out of the city in chaos and then Tris,Tobias,Christina,Uriah,Cara,Caleb and Peter escape the city and Evelyn's evil powers.They go outside the fence and go to the Bureau where they have to put down their weapons and they get a tour of the place.They then get places to sleep.Tris finds out that this is where her mother had stayed and worked before she and Caleb were born.She gets her journal and reads the short messages to this guy named David who turns out be a bad person.Later the group goes to the factionless and the poor are and they encounter violence and all that.Then, Tobias meets this girl names Juanita (NIta) and then they plan to attack the Bureau.Tobias is really hesitant because he and Tris promised not to keep anything from each other ever again.Anyway, an explosion goes off, sending Uriah in a coma who later then dies.The group eventually finds out the Bureau wants to reset everyone's memory in the city with the memory serum.The group then goes into the city and Tobias confronts his mom, Evelyn and decides since he has to reset one of his parents memories not to do it to her.They forgive each other, and then Peter drinks the memory serum to forget everything.BAck to Tris's point of view, Caleb is the one who is voluntereed to drop the death serum.Tris then breaks in the weapons lab for Caleb and then gets shot by David and security guards.(You will find out who David is when you read it.)It's discribed almost like she is in a dream.Tris completes the mission and then she dies and sees her mother as a ghost or something like that.The next part is Tobias and Evelyn confroting Marcus and Johanna.Then the epilogue tells how they are living two to three years later.I thought this was the worst ending ever!!It upset me so much.Anyway, this was a really great series despite the ending to it.Recommended to anyone who likes fictious books, or just wants to read something fun.

Roth shakes up her storytelling (and will do the same to some readers) in this highly anticipated, largely satisfying wrap-up to the Divergent trilogy. First, the majority of the story takes place outside the city walls, since Tris and Tobias (aka Four) have joined the rebel group known as the Allegiant, whose goals are to fight the factionless and discover whatâs beyond the cityâs boundaries. Second, Roth alternates between Trisâs and Tobiasâs viewpoints as readers learn about genetic tampering that the U.S. government performed generations earlier, which gave rise to the faction system. Rothâs plotting is, as readers have come to expect, intelligent and complex. Dangers, suspicion, and tension lurk around every corner, and the chemistry between Tris and Tobias remains heart-poundingly real. The alternating perspectives are bothersome at times, due to the similarity between Tris and Tobiasâs first-person narratives. However, for those who have faithfully followed these five factions, and especially the Dauntless duo who stole hearts two books ago, this final installment will capture and hold attention until the divisive final battle has been waged.
