Sammy Spider's First Day of School

PreS-Gr 1-Sneaking into Josh's backpack, the curious spider in this long-running series experiences his first day at his Jewish school. He hears the story of Noah's Ark, learns about being kind to animals, and observes the children painting, building with blocks, and enjoying a snack. When the youngsters return to the classroom after playing outside, Sammy is discovered. Their first instinct is to step on him, but Josh reminds them about their obligation to be kind to all creatures. This book is a departure from the previous "Sammy" titles in that Josh Shapiro actually sees the spider in this one. The bright cut-paper illustrations help to depict a typical school day.
