Hopkinson says he wrote this book out of his passion for the subject of career development, particularly in the area of salary negotiation, and that comes through in his reading. To help educate job seekers on a little understood aspect of getting to their perfect job, he provides examples, stories, and a concise set of instructions for learning the secrets of salary negotiation. Hopkinson excels at narrating the examples he gives in his discussion, especially those from his own life. But, overall, he sounds like an inexperienced narrator.
