On Thin Ice

evelyn_c - Dear john is a story about a girl named Savannah and a guy named John that fell in love over spring break. This story teaches people that love isn't easy and it takes sacrifice to make it last. I think the main thing that broke their relationship apart was that john has to go back for the US army and they didn’t have any connection, the only thing they could do was to send each other letters. John’s dad was a big part of the story because John used to be really close to him but they lost their connections because John’s dad was abscessed with coins and became a coin collector. Coins was John and his dad’s bond John used to be really interested in coins but as he became a teenager he just stopped liking coins and started wanting just to be cool. The ending of the story wasn’t how I thought it would be. I thought that they would start a life together and have a family and be really happy but it wasn’t like that. I think a lot of people would like this book if they like romantic and love stories.
