Country music singing sensation Wade Springer is staying in Bar Harbor, ME, and the local gals are quite smitten. The newspaper's food columnist, exuberant Hayley Powell, lands a gig as the celebrity's private chef, but when one of his roadies ends up incinerated in a burned-up tour bus, Hayley can't resist investigating. Throw in a gay police chief, a bartending brother, and a gabby best friend, and you've got a winning formula for a light, nicely seasoned cozy. Cocktail and food recipes included. VERDICT Brother-sister writing team Rick Copp and Holly Simason set a snappy pace, introduce fun characters, and write a clever plot. This second series entry (after Death of a Kitchen Diva) is a tasty entree for the culinary cozy crowd.
