In this sequel, Tim O’Shay, hero of The Officer Says “I Do,” takes a supporting role to allow his younger sister and his best friend take center stage. Unlike her brother Tim, feisty Navy nurse Madison O’Shay hasn’t followed her father’s path into the Marines, but she still feels proud to have upheld their family’s tradition of military service in her own way. Another Marine, her brother’s attractive pal Jeremy Phillips, has caught her eye, but he’s wary of doing anything to jeopardize his friendship. And Tim must wrestle with his desire to leave the military to write novels. Madison’s use of her feminine wiles to persuade Jeremy to change his mind about her provides this novel with its most entertaining moments. Fans of military romance may prefer to wait for the next Suzanne Brockmann or Merline Lovelace instead.
