Layne (the New York’s Finest series) packs as much into this sexually charged and emotionally intense novella (an introduction to her upcoming Wedding Belles series) as most authors do in a full novel. Manhattan photographer Leah McHale was head over heels for her boyfriend, Jason Rhodes, until she went to visit him and a woman answered his door wearing nothing but a shirt. Leah immediately ended the relationship and avoided him at all costs. She’s done her best to move on, but when they’re both hired to shoot a high-profile wedding that could catapult their careers, she must learn to play nice with the man who shattered her heart. Jason has never gotten over Leah or her distrust of him. He’s a former foster child, and all he wants is for someone to believe in him. The circumstances of their break-up screamed infidelity, but everything is not as it appears. The heat between them is enough to melt steel, and the emotional connection and psychological struggles will keep readers engaged.
