Among the King's Soldiers

Seth Donovan decides that the best way to revenge his brother's death at the hand of American Revolutionary forces is to spy for the British. To that end, he infiltrates the Williamsburg home of the Martins, who are bringing in arms to help the American patriots. Love for beautiful Sarah MacNeal not only makes him change his mind politically but also brings him closer to God. Regrettably, other romances and more political intrigue tend to overpower the two main plots involving Seth, and the sheer number of characters would probably make this book a difficult read for those not already acquainted with the "Spirit of Appalachia" series (e.g., Beyond the Quiet Hills, Bethany, 1997). Libraries with the first two volumes may want to purchase, but others should be wary.
