Darcy Fitzwilliam is a self-made millionaire, enjoying success as a partner at a hedge fund manager in New York City feeling pressured by her family to marry Carl, her on-again off-again boyfriend. When she travels back home to Pemberley, Ohio, after a long absence, she is surprised by her attraction to neighbor Luke Bennet, who is deciding whether marriage is the next logical step with his girlfriend, Charlotte. Though Darcy initially dismisses their drunken kisses under the mistletoe at her parents’ Christmas party, she can’t shake the feeling that she might want more than make-outs. Meanwhile, Darcy’s best friend, handsome Bingley Charles, is falling for Luke’s brother Jim. Humor and romantic angst are at the heart of the novel as Darcy and Luke must decide whether they are willing to take a chance at love.
