Thinking music? Think again. This audio contains four stories written by famous authors about hired killers, each read by a top performer. Block's "Keller's Karma," read by Stefan Rudnicki, is the most interesting. Hall's story, "The Catch," about a killer who charges only $200 per hit, is the weakest, but narrator John Rubinstein's performance gives it life. "A Trip Home," written by Gorman, and "Snow, Snow, Snow," by Harvey, are both about sweet revenge. Gabrielle de Cuir gives "Trip" a smooth, pleasant read while Maxwell Caulfield casts his performance with abundant irony. This is an opportunity for listeners to try some new writers or return to old favorites. A.L.H. (c) AudioFile 2006, Portland, Maine
